SPEAKER_01Yeah, come on now. You gotta my co- I'm sorry, I apologize. My co-host. We still got an old building, but we just in a new building, new environment this time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I got I I got a special guest with me, man. What was that? Well, we got before I wanna I'm gonna introduce Kenny first.
SPEAKER_00Introduce Kenny first. Kenny Island Five in the building. For sure here. Okay. Chilling out at the Pavajot show. That's it.
SPEAKER_02But this show is a stretch show. My director didn't give me a chance. He he he don't he I got some of my brain. What I'm getting ready to do. Okay? I'm gonna introduce. I'm at the biggest, the biggest brewing company. South Beach Brew. Shout out to my brother Lorenzo and his wife for allowing us to have the show here tonight. For sure. The day that the boat released is EP set in stone. That's what makes this so special. We here on South Beach Brew, which is Lorenzo, which is a partner of the boat with South Beach Brew. It's what it is.
SPEAKER_01It's what it is.
SPEAKER_02Lorenzo, I see you sit on another side. Thank you, my brother. Thank you. Now, Kelly I La Five. Why the why the why Kelly I La Five? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's just really I-95. You know, Kenny just happens to be you know. Okay. I do a lot, so you know, I'm just the guy behind a lot, you know. But I-95 is, you know, the brand is the name. Okay. Does it have something to do with that? You off I-95? Well, yeah, you know, our shop used to be right on I-95, you know, but uh Florida Highway Patrol said, you know, you all got to quit putting cars out front. There's accidents on 95 because they stopped in the look and stuff. So plus they sold the building, so we moved. Okay, okay, okay. But you stuck with the name. Yeah. Because it's the brain. We still close to 95. Like one little stop away, you know. Okay.
SPEAKER_02That's what it is. That's what it is.
SPEAKER_01What's Kenny 995?
SPEAKER_02He almost 995. What it what it is?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, what?
SPEAKER_00Kenny, what do you want to know? What do you do? Oh, we build cars. We built some of the baddest cars on earth. You didn't know that one?
SPEAKER_01You don't gotta know that. I'm gonna hear him say. I'm gonna hear him say. He got the mic. The mic is on his hands. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02So when when I wanna know, right, Kenny, when did you start wanting to do this? Wanna build cars? You know what I'm saying? The passion for building cars.
SPEAKER_00When did that start? Well, you know, like you grow up in the streets, you see the cars go by. You know what I'm saying? So the passion starts when you're in the streets. And then, you know, you go and you try to make it as best as you can. And I kind of got thrown into the whole build cars thing, you know. I had another business and I had my own cars.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_00So I have friends that I already knew that already did stuff the cars. So I would just be like, yo, come by the shop and do something for me on my car. And then the planes ran into the buildings, you know. So I started, I had a shop, but I started uh a full shop after the planes hit the buildings. I kind of like took the money from that and like went and did the car thing because I knew card thing is like you can't stop that. It's recession proof. That's big, you know. So we've been through it all. We've been in business so long, it's it's recession proof. You know, it's the same all the time. You know, you can only do so much, so there's only so much you can do. Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_02I I think you and I met uh uh about five years ago, you and I met in uh uh at the Rick Rose car show. And I remember, I remember, I remember talking to you, yo man, when you when you when you gonna come through my show. This is five years ago now. I'm busy. I know it. And then you know, and then and I I I know it and then you know the wife has to change. Your wife's yeah, your your wife, the one, you know, we kept a contact. Your wife has to be a good one.
SPEAKER_00That's what it is.
SPEAKER_01She's one of the biggest supporters.
SPEAKER_02And she made she made sure that she was like, We could do it this week, that you know what I'm saying? And here it is. This is the this is the best day. You know, the boat, the boat, you know, settled stone is out, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_00Hey, listen, it fell on the same day it was meant to be, right?
SPEAKER_02It was meant to be meant to be fell on the same day. You were meant to be. You were meant to be most definitely most definite. Oh man. Um what what is what inspired you, right? To get your first shop.
SPEAKER_00Just I always drop my cars off to shops. They always did the same thing. They never got the job done. It didn't matter the price to me. As Bobby can tell you, I don't ask prices. It's just always been me.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00So I don't expect people to ask prices because I don't ask prices, you know. So that being said, it just kind of moved you into doing that, you know.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna ask you something. What's the what's the most money one of your customers put in on his car?
SPEAKER_00We ain't done yet. We ain't done yet, right? As of now. As of now, everybody keeps putting a higher budget. Everybody keeps going higher budget. You know, there's people out there with much different cars than we have with a lot more money in them. Little Corvettes that got three million dollars in them, seven million dollars in them. Wow, you know, so we're just scratching the surface now. We'll get there. Damn. We'll get there. But no, we're not done yet. People put that much money in them in them in them cost. It's much look at the houses, look at the boats.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, thank you.
SPEAKER_00Look at everything. You go buy a Rolls Race for a half a million dollars. You can't really go buy somebody's donk that's worth half a million dollars. They're not gonna give it to you. You can't buy Steven's car, can't buy it. Can't buy none of them, can't buy brown sugar, you can't buy insanity, you can't buy them. There's no price tag on those cars. Those people ain't selling those cars. Wow, that's weird. So that makes them priceless. Wow, it can't stop, right? Damn. There's million dollar speed boats, five million dollar speed boats, ten million dollar speed boats, watches. These guys are spending a million dollars on a watch. Yeah, yeah. I build a whole car for less than that. I got 10,000 parts to put together. Mine's got a tick all the time. I can't stop working.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01But you got a specific model, a car that you just that's like your specialty if somebody comes in.
SPEAKER_0071 to 76 Impala. We've been doing them forever. We got so many of them things on the road. Yeah. But we've done a lot of stuff in between from a 39 pickup to a 67 charger, we're doing now. Get bored. Want to do different stuff.
SPEAKER_01Wow.
SPEAKER_00We did mini trucks, we did low riders, we did all that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00We can still do all that. We did lifted trucks. I've always owned a truck because I always had something to tow.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00So you always own a truck based on that. Right, right. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_01Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_00So when you go to the dealership, you're not thinking about buying a car. You know? She's driven a Rolls. She drives a pickup truck. Why? Because she's got shit to do. Got stuff to pick up.
SPEAKER_02Right, right.
SPEAKER_00We ain't got time for that.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you ain't got time to be to be cute. You got time to get this money.
SPEAKER_00It's the most dressed up you're gonna see me coming here to see you. I don't even dress up like this for this for the show. It's too damn hot.
SPEAKER_01Do you have a you have a you have a got an idea to do something from a customer, and and you say, hey, that's that's that's pretty new.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're supposed to. It's called evolution. You know, you just take an idea that somebody else has and you go with it. And there's some guys out there with some great ideas, shop owners, along with customers. Yeah, man, I got one right now. All right, Joel. Listen, he's all about his car, and we have AI now. So, what's the next level? Anything he can think of. Can we do it? We're gonna try. Evolution. Evolution. Wow. What makes you stand out from the rest? I don't stop. I don't stop working. I'm seven days a week. I don't stop. She has to beg me to take off.
SPEAKER_01Seven days a week.
SPEAKER_00Seven days a week. I'll show you my time sheets. Seven days a week. It don't stop. I don't stop. Were you were you were you working earlier today before you came down? Of course. I've taken one day off since the Raw show. One Sunday, she made me take off. That's only because she wants help with laundry. We're empty nesters. Right, right. So I gotta help with shit now. You know what I mean? So but she's still, you know, we're a team.
SPEAKER_02That's what so you you fell in love with cars at a young age, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00So I'm gonna actually a little too much love when I was young, young. Yeah, you know, you a little too much love.
SPEAKER_02You from Florida, pick. For sure.
SPEAKER_00Full Lauderdale. Four Lauderdale. You know, we was all 305 one time. One time, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. 305 and Shiftos and 954, 955.
SPEAKER_02And and I remember I remember back in the days, we the 305, they count it. We used to be scared, scared to go to Broward. Well, I ain't going to Brow, boy. Brow. Well, them folks ain't playing over there, boy.
SPEAKER_00Lived in Brow my whole life. Brow it's all right. Yeah.
unknownNo?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's definitely. I gotta, I gotta, I gotta say that.
SPEAKER_02I definitely gotta say that. Uh when the when the first when the first time, right? The first frame off restoration, you were done.
SPEAKER_00My personal vehicles, but for a customer, I would say the first one was probably for a customer, probably 98, 2000. Back then you would get into these cars and you would go to doing all this stuff and these great ideas, you know, because I would always open a lowrider magazine and look at that. So that's where everything comes from. We can do it, we can go the extra stream, we can go further than everything else. So that's why I just like try to take it that way. So coming from a lowrider gives me a lot of advantage on like what to come up with.
SPEAKER_02I know, right? I can't, you know, because as time goes, I know things change, elevation changed. So looking looking back, right, from how it was into how it is now. What do you feel?
SPEAKER_00What's your what's your it's just a different era, man? It's a different thing when you know I I had cars in the 80s, so we never even opened our hoods. No, we just didn't. You know, you got a fresh paint, got your top put on, got your interior done, and threw some 30s and bows on it, it was done. The music, music, and you was finished. Four EVs and 100 watts saying there you go. Yeah, 50 by 50. Yeah, yeah. Well you 50 by 50 saying, yo, you know your stuff was. 50 by 70 sure was.
SPEAKER_02But we had all that. You know, my 16th birthday, right? My dad took me to the car lot and bought me a box Chevy. Really? A box Chevy, a 19, was a 1984 box Chevy, 85 box Chevy, right? No, was it no 83 Box Chevy? So now I remember when I when I when he when he bought that car for me, I had a friend that that do music, and that, you know, that the first thing I did with that car would trick it to him. God bless it, did his name was Charles. He he ripped my seat out with a slant. He cut out the back, the metal, and he had, and he cut the top, and he built me a box with four 12s, 410s, and and the 500-watt acoustic with a zap code. That was back in the 80s, and I'm talking about now. When my dad, who bought that for me for my 16th birthday, seen what I did to that car. It was on and popping. Started from there. Man, he was mad. But I was like, I always, I always, you know.
SPEAKER_01It was fascinated. I'm fascinated by that, by that, by the by that structure of these cars, man. You you you you had a seven, you had a seventh trait. I mean, back, I mean later on. I mean, my first my first old school was the Delta 88. My brother bought me that. Okay. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I like this. Yeah, yeah, you want this? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like it, I like it, I like it. That was it, that was it. That was what 93, 99, 93, 94. Okay, okay. Delta Delta 88 was my first old school car.
SPEAKER_02Why was your first old school car, Kenny? Yeah.
SPEAKER_00The first car ever. Old school. Old school. Old school. Yeah. A 1976 four-door Nova. I bought it down the street from my house. My neighbor had You don't see them. You don't see them no more. You don't see them Novas no more. Like $1,200 and it had a blown motor, and I fixed it. So it's like been since the beginning. No, I had a stepdad that kind of was like in the cars a little bit, so kind of showed me a little bit.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So I fixed it, and 14. I was driving that thing to my friend's house, and he had a license, and then we'd drive it to school. And then we'd skip school for the rest of the day. For the rest of the trade. So bad.
SPEAKER_02You you remember you remember the you remember them gremlins? You remember the gremlins? For sure. The pentos. Yeah, for sure. For sure. That's some old that a that's ugly cars. That's that's an ugly ass car. That's why they call it gremlin.
SPEAKER_00I think there's no making that look.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00What was that gremlin? Why was that made by? What's gym? What's that? GMC was a gremlin is made by, I want to say, Pontiac.
SPEAKER_02Pontiac.
SPEAKER_00I want to say. Or AMC or something like that.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Gremlin. Suck.
SPEAKER_01What was your reaction to see a car get in the first place that you know that you build Eric Ross car show?
SPEAKER_00It's a good feeling. It's a good feeling for the whole team. You know, it makes us want to keep doing what we're doing. You know, it's stressful. A lot of time, a lot of time at work, a lot of time. The guys put in a lot of hours. So, you know, it's it's trying to get something done. It actually makes your life go by really fast. Like I didn't realize it, but like these last five years has gone by really fast because every year you're chasing that date, and it comes so quick. Like you wouldn't believe how fast a year goes by. We have so much other stuff to do too, along with that car. Right, right, right. You can't just not build another customer's car. No, they got money too, and they're like, uh, what? So, you know, there's designated times and people that it's it's an orchestra. Yeah, you have to keep it going like that. You know, you can't put something in that ain't supposed to be there. Right, right. You can't have a customer that's not ready to go, or you know, sometimes you can, you can just move them around a little bit, yeah, depending on where you're at in the build. But you try to, you know, try to orchestrate a huge conglomerate. You know, it's seven shops in one. You know, we do the interior, we do the stairway, we do the fab, we do you know, everything. Motor, we do suspension, we do paint body. Right, right. It doesn't stop. So everything is done at your shop.
SPEAKER_01I take my hey, I want the music, I want everything is done at the shop. I-95 motors, motor sports i-95. I-95 motorsports. I95 Motorsports. Get it right, man. Get it right. My bad, my bad, get it right, man. Triple, man. This is Sarge B brew. Get it right, okay. Yeah, you're right, you're right, you're right. Good. The album come out today, tweet. Yeah, yeah, I got you. Send a stone. Send the stone. My bad, my bad.
SPEAKER_02You gotta download that. You download it yet? Yeah, I downloaded it. No, you ain't. No, you lying. How many, how many frame offs have you done so far, you think?
SPEAKER_00That much that much. Close to 60. We did probably 35, almost 40 in the building we were in off 95. And that wasn't there, was a lot of cars that were complete builds that weren't frame-offs, that were like everything but the frame, because nobody was doing that then. Yeah, so like you have cars that are built now that we built 15, 20 years ago, that are still around or being sold.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, you know, and there's a lot of things we built. We built a lot of low riders, a lot of mini trucks, a lot of stuff we never we didn't start posting until my daughter started working with us, really. Like we posted a little bit, yeah, but not a lot. Like we had built before Rick Ross show, we probably had built. I mean, we probably did 15 to 20 15 celebrities before that. But after that, but we keep them, you know, they don't they don't want that, right? Right. They don't want you all in their business, right? You know, and then some of the guys we did cars with really don't need you in their business, you know what I'm saying? So it ain't nobody's business, and then we had to start picking and choosing what we posted. Oh, you know, there's some stuff we still don't post. We just don't post it. Yeah, you know, we don't have time, and people don't want it posted, and yeah, it's not a good, you know, it's just we'll be all right. It'll be all right.
SPEAKER_02When when when I I I I I actually write, how many frame off have you done? Now explain to somebody who might not know what the heck frame off means.
SPEAKER_00That's a destruction, complete destruction of a vehicle customization with every single light and bolt for a bag. Wow.
SPEAKER_0260 at least from the from the motor to the f everything.
SPEAKER_00Everything. Some things we bought motors, you know. It's tough. It's tough to collaborate with somebody who doesn't have the passion that you have, right? You know, it's just some people are gonna get there and some people aren't. How long does it take to put that car together, man?
SPEAKER_02From the frill. I don't know. You you think, okay, let's say right now, uh uh 2027, God willing, we see 2027. Have you stopped working yet on a 2027 Rickhorse car show car yet?
SPEAKER_00Yes, that's only because the guy that we're building the car for this year wants something that nobody else has. If you're talking about an olive oil start style dunk or a bipolar style dunk, something along those lines, we can build that car in six months.
SPEAKER_02In six months.
SPEAKER_00Six months. Six months, gotta be on pace though. A chunk every week. Yeah, because like you said, you got other vehicles. I could put somebody doing your interior while somebody's painting your car, why somebody's designing your stereo, why somebody's building your suspension. How many people you got in your team, man? Right now, there's nine of us. Nine of you guys.
SPEAKER_01And what's the importance of having a real good solid team? That's one of the things that you preach to your team, in other words.
SPEAKER_00It doesn't matter how long it takes to get the job done right, it needs to be done right. That means if you have to unscrew a bolt ten times, well, then you just have to unscrew it. And you say, Well, why can't you get that on the first time? Yeah, good luck. It don't go that easy. Man makes plans and God laughs. So that's what I say about that. No. Wow.
SPEAKER_02What what sacrif what what what sacrifice have you made to be where you at today?
SPEAKER_00Where? Where do you start? Where do you start? It's been me by myself until I met her. But I left when I was 14, so it starts there. How long you and your wife been together? Since I was 19. We got married when we were 21, 21. 20. I'm getting yes and no though there. You forgetting. 20. So I already got 30, what, 32 on my sentence?
SPEAKER_01Shout out to the missus.
SPEAKER_00Shout out. This is part of staying strong. This is why you're able to do the things you're able to do. If you got commitment in this, you can have commitment in anything. Car don't talk back. That's easy. But the wife does. For sure. And we work together 24-7.
SPEAKER_02Uh I'm I'm not gonna say nothing to Lorenzo over there. He got his wife over there buying.
SPEAKER_00Gotta be a powerhouse. Yeah. Yeah, focus on the cars.
SPEAKER_01Focus on the car. Focus on the car. Get back on the car. Get back on the car.
SPEAKER_00We have a job. We have a job to do the whole team, and everybody knows what they're supposed to do. Everybody.
SPEAKER_02But now we we can't really like. If we Adrian, what you think about we go down there one day and just do some filming or something? Certain things that we can we're allowed to film now.
SPEAKER_00Oh, you can film everything. He he wants everything shown in his car this year. So we're just starting to post. We're making sure we get it done, and then we'll post something that we did three months ago. Start this already. Start this already. Yeah, it's been a this one's been a year ago, but we have others that are gonna come that are just gonna be like year ones. Like insanity was like what, like 15, 18 months. Right, right. No?
SPEAKER_01Olive oil was seven months. Insanity. Insanity was insane.
SPEAKER_00Bipolar, I think, was like 16 months. I think cream was like 16 months. Those two kind of overlapped each other and messed each other up. I was supposed to get bipolar done to bring it to the first show. Right. But I didn't get it done because I started on cream and I didn't manage two jobs properly. It's on me.
SPEAKER_02Where do the names come from, man? Where do the names come from?
SPEAKER_00Is that an owner or where the names come from? I don't know. I just I don't know. I don't know. You you give it the name or the owners give the name? We talk about it. It's like a regular now for them to name their car. Yeah, like it's just part of it now.
SPEAKER_02Olive or olive oil.
SPEAKER_00At least it ain't got MMs and stuff on it anymore. I mean, shout out to Murray, you know, but at least we ain't doing logos no more. Hawaiian Punch, remember them? Yeah, yeah. That's a while back, so at least we ain't doing that now. Uh when did you get your first dunk? Me? Your first dunk. First one I bought from her brother-in-law, and I bought it in '91 when I got out. I bought it from bought it and then had it for months, couldn't get a title for it. It was candy painted, had 30s and bows, music, everything. He lived in ghouls. Right. So he came up to Broward, you know what I'm saying, and talked to her sister. I was like, what's up with the car? He's like, Oh, you want to buy it? So I bought that. That was like 91. But I ended up stripping the car, taking the rims off and everything because we couldn't get a title for it.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00His brother-in-law lost it, or his brother lost the title or something. You know how that goes. But back in the day, it really didn't matter. We're talking about early 90s. Yeah. Things were sweet. What like this? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01What you like? What you I mean, what you prefer? And you might prefer both hard top or convertible.
SPEAKER_00Convertible, you know. Convertibles are just, you know, four o'clock and aftercars. Try to drive that thing at two o'clock in the afternoon. Boy, it's like riding a Harley. The sun be beating, pressing you. So I like verts. No, I got a vert. I've had my vert now. Shh. 18 years I've had my car. That's a brown one. Brown one with the checkerboards on it. I had that car forever. It's all torn apart now. Which car that was? That you took to New York. No, that's bipolar. I mean, uh Olive Oil. He took it to New York. He took it to New York. He took it there. He took it to the MV show. Right, okay. So that's how it ended up driving around. Yeah. But that's that LT4, man. We put them. We used to do the performance and racing and all that. And no, it's it's different times. World show and all that. We wanna we wanna make stuff that just drives and they can go where they want to go and not smell like gas and not be broke down and for real. Trying to do something different right now.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00If you want that, we'll give you that. But you gotta understand what that entails.
SPEAKER_03Right, right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Every time you hit the gas, every time you turn around and spending money on it. Yeah, yeah. Can't let an E85 car sit. There's a reason why we do the things that we do. We know our customer, we've learned. We can't just be like, oh, we'll sell you this, sell you this. No. We have to we have to make sure you're get what you want. Right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_02What what do you see, Kenny, five years from now? Just five, yeah, five years. Five years from now. What do you what why would okay? No, I'm never gonna say what do you see? What would you like where where Kenny need to be five years from now?
SPEAKER_00I don't know if I'll ever stop building cars. Me and Bobby Joe talk about it. That's what I think. I don't I don't think there's anything I'd rather do. Like I don't I see you as an old man in the 70s trying to carry. They all tell me they're gonna shove me in a corner and just go over there, you know. As they do the work, and then yeah, and I'll work. Just put me, show me what you want me to weld, I'll weld it. You know, I'll do that. I'm good. I'm good like that. Yeah, yeah. But you know, I am getting old, my hands are getting sore. Yeah, I still cut the hell out of myself on a regular basis. I still got hella calluses. So, you know, I love what I do. I don't think I would change it for anything. Um I like everything that goes along with it, no, but it's alright, bruh. Yeah, I've been I've been in the hood a long time. I've been picked on a long time. So uh just brush it. Yeah, keep it moving.
SPEAKER_02I I I I ain't gonna lie, Kenny, man. He's a bad dude, man. I tried. He's a bad dude. And and then, you know, you whenever that whenever I see you at the car show, it's always been loved, you know what I'm saying? When we see each other, it was always, hey, how you doing, your wifey, you know what I'm saying? Always been loved, man. Sure. So five years, five years now. We've been, you know what I'm saying? So it's a great thing, man. It's really I'm really happy to have you, you know, on the show. This special, special show. I'm happy to be here. You know what I'm saying? And then I I remember when you when when when when when when your wife hit me up, she goes, We are we gonna have the show at this place? I said, nah, nah, nah, nah. South Beach Brew.
SPEAKER_00Okay, and I sent you the address, and here it is, man. You know, yeah, South Beach Brewery.
SPEAKER_02You know what I'm saying? Man, I appreciate you, man, really for you know taking your time out to come, you know what I'm saying, on the show.
SPEAKER_00We just want everybody to know that what we do, we care about. We're passionate. And uh, you know, I I hope that the I hope that the shop is here way past me. Way past me. But I hope the cars that I built will be here way past me. Yeah, that's all I can hope for. I got beautiful grandbabies I just had. Hopefully, we'll have some more.
SPEAKER_02Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_00You know, I got beautiful daughters. You know, I'm great with my wife. We we straight, man. The shop is the shop is great. Yeah, you know, lesson. It's a blessing, bro. There's a lot of other places I could be. Amen. Amen.
SPEAKER_01King, what about um you I don't know if you probably did you go over this idea before, but uh in the why do you call that what you said? Uh uh apprenticeship, apprenticeship, yeah. Apprentice.
SPEAKER_00Listen, anytime anybody, I will do apprenticeship. The thing about it is we're super professionals, right? So my apprenticeship can't start with somebody who does not know anything. That's very hard because of where we're at. If we were 10, 15 years ago, yes. But right now, yeah, I need professionals. We're doing super professional work.
SPEAKER_02Somebody that knows that knows what they're doing.
SPEAKER_00Listen, if you want to say, if you're like I'm I have my nephew, you might see him on videos, low, low, low max. I got him on my he's an apprentice. You know, we pay him, you know, but he sweeps, he cleans stuff up, he takes stuff apart. Right. We can do stuff like that. Um it's limited though, because everything we do, once we get to the wrecked part, becomes a beautiful part. You gotta work around a car that is basically painted. You're you know, you're building this whole thing around something that's painted, so you gotta be super careful. Right, right, right, right, right. And it's not that they it's not that they're trying, they're just they don't got it yet. You know the difference between a kid and a man. No, a kid and a man just paying attention to what you're doing. Yeah, yeah, you know, paying attention to what you're doing. Common sense is really big. So there's people out there, Eddie, that's with been with me now 12 years. He started with me at 22. Fix it up like that. Like it's there's nothing I can't show him.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00There's nothing that shit. Now he shows me shit. So you know, so that's where it should be. And that's 12 years, so I expect somebody to be there in 12 years.
SPEAKER_02Have you have you have you had have you ever had anybody that was with you that left and wanted to open up their home spot?
SPEAKER_00Of course, that's half my competition these days. But nobody, nobody's gonna go and open a one-stop shop. They ain't got the hustle, they don't have the drive. It's a lot, there's a lot of long nights. No, there's a lot of long nights before that shop ever became a lot of long nights.
SPEAKER_02Right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_00So, and sometimes in the middle of the shop, there was a lot of long nights that weren't at the shop. So, everything is everything.
SPEAKER_02So consistency.
SPEAKER_00They see what we do and it makes it look easy, right? But it ain't. But just because you see me do what I do don't mean you can do what I do. Because there's a lot of people that think they can do a lot of what a lot of people do. Can you do it?
SPEAKER_02Just because I do it don't mean you can do it the way I do it. There you go. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00We try to do a little bit more. I mean, we we we prive ourselves on doing a little bit more. Right, right. We don't want when you roll your window down, it's a fall. You know, we want, we we take the extra effort to go, it's not the same. What they're doing, what we're doing, it's not the same. We used to do that. Now we elevated. There's a reason why. We didn't just all of a sudden do the same thing and say we're gonna put this price tag on it to this. It just is what it is. You want something done right, you you have to take the time to do it right. Right. You can't throw it together. You can, but not nowadays. Not trying to go to a show, you can throw something together and be rolling in the streets. No? Well, parts these days ain't cheap. Gold plating ain't cheap, baitings ain't cheap. Yeah, yeah. Shout out to compression, compression ain't cheap. None of them damn rims are cheap. So you're talking about that, you're talking about everything, everything is just elevating. Now people are starting to understand what the Craftsman part of it is. As long as we can push the craftsman part, we can do a better job at building a car that's nicer. But only through evolution and only through showing people the difference between this and that, and then they'll understand. There's different kinds of diamonds. There's a reason there's different there's a reason why your Hermes bag costs what it costs. Yeah, and your Michael's cores costs what it costs. Yeah, yeah. We're not Michael cores. I'm sorry. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_02But there's also two, there's a reason why when Kenny from I95 does a car, it costs what it costs.
SPEAKER_00For sure. Longevity, warranty, all of this stuff. And we stand behind our product.
SPEAKER_02Kenny, man, like I said, I appreciate you for coming too, man.
SPEAKER_00I appreciate you having us. It's awesome, man.
SPEAKER_02That's awesome. Man, that's awesome. It's great, man. I I it's this is really great. You know, it's shit.
SPEAKER_00I want to write a book. That's my next thing.
SPEAKER_02How about Bill and Carsh? Uh what's the book gonna be about? The life of Kenny I Five. Go for it. He writing one, he writing one right now. Yeah. That book is, yeah. That's what's up, though. That's what's up. That's what's up. And again, once again, man, appreciate you, man. For sure. We keep going and going, man. You know, conversation is good. You know what I'm saying? Books be all day, man.
unknownFor sure.
SPEAKER_02Man, appreciate you, man, for coming to me on the Pope's old show, man, with my co-host Walk the Wamp Kenny.
