SPEAKER_04Who are you? Honestly, besides me being an artist, I'm a man with a purpose and a plan. I believe in destination. Okay. Um also just wanting to achieve just things in life that you would like to do. As far as plans, explore new things. So honestly, all those things, just that in general, would just be like who I would be as far as like my character. Okay.

SPEAKER_06Make sense. Great answer. Growing up in Miami, man. Uh-huh. What experience shaped you? You know what I'm saying? And the approach of hit to hip hop?
SPEAKER_04That's a good question. Honestly, since I was eight years old, right? Pablo, shout out to Pablo. He taught me how to do beats. Well, Pablo in the building. Shout out to Pablo. We in the building. Right there.
SPEAKER_00Pablo.
SPEAKER_04He taught me how to do beats. One day I just randomly asked him, like, what is that? What type of program that is? He was like, I'm making beats. And since then, I just always felt like interested and just wanting to try it. So then I kept going and kept going and it got better, better, and better and better. You know what I'm saying? And then I just never stopped. So so you don't only so you don't only rap, you also make beats. Yeah, I make my own beats and rap. I do both. I'm like, if I could do this, I could do that and that and that and that. Because it's just that just that's just my mindset. Like I push myself to do more. You know what I'm saying? Instead of just that's doing beats.
SPEAKER_03That's definitely the plus. The more you can learn, the more you can apply to your craft. Right. You feel me?
SPEAKER_06That's that's that's so you record, so you record your own joint. So you you got a studio at home, so you do your own recording.
SPEAKER_04Everything. I do everything at home. Everything. Engineer, all that at home. I'm like, I might as well just build a studio in my house where I don't have to keep paying $79 going to this person. Where I could like have all the time in the world at home. You know what I'm saying? And then I could just come up with these masterpieces and just put them together.
SPEAKER_06Masterpieces, you're gonna say masterpieces.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, that's what it is. That's what it is I like that, man. I mean a one-stop shop at the at at the um at his own space, you know? I mean, it can't be. Can't need to take heed. Can't be that. I like that.
SPEAKER_06I like that. Who who which artists I want to say influenced you? Okay. Or made you believe that you could become a rapper.
SPEAKER_04I would say just the Miami scenery growing up. I would say Ross, shout out to Ross, um, Gucci. Just like seeing those in bought, I would say, an influence on me to just wanting to like it opened my eyes when it came to music. Shout out to my dad too. He used to rap as well. So it opened like uh, I would say open a door for me to just explore what music is really all about.
SPEAKER_03I mean, have a feature with or feature with you, past or present.
SPEAKER_04Which, which, which, which three you'll um as far as right now, I would say Ross, Future, and I will also say Lucky. Those three. Um just how I do beats and how I flow on my music, they have like that that certain style that they will be interested in. You know what I'm saying? Right, right, right. So yeah, I believe both of them, like those three will be the will fit, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Hey this. What's what's your if I sit back and I'm like, uh-huh. Tay static, what you, what you doing this for? What you what like you know, I'm sitting back and like, okay, Tay Static, I hear what you're saying, but what are you doing this for?
SPEAKER_04Right. Honestly, um, it's not even only for myself, but mainly like my family. You know what I mean? Um, ever since I was a kid, I always felt like I had a mission to accomplish. Right. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. I remember my mom was telling me when I was a kid, um, she was in a store, and I was in the store at the time. She was telling me a random man came up to her and was like, he gonna save you one day.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
SPEAKER_04And that really just like How old were you then?
SPEAKER_06How old were you?
SPEAKER_04How old I was? I don't like um nine years old. Nine at the time. So it's like that really made me sift and open my eyes. Like I could become greater, you know what I'm saying? And just want something in life, push myself harder because um I have people that is you know standing behind me that want to push me, but also just the motivation that I get from that story push me to just keep going no matter what. No matter what. No matter what. What's up?
SPEAKER_06What's up? Okay, okay. All artists, right? They had a they had a moment. What was your moment? Define your moment that made you take rap serious.
SPEAKER_04Okay, I would say the moment is when uh I do my beats. The moment when I do my beats, I don't just do beats, I'm also rapping at the same time, but I'm mmm. So that's how I get the flow, I get the rhythm. So it just opened doors for me to like try rap at the same time. So just music in general, it just came apart. Like as I'm doing beats, I'm mmm. So that's how I am as as far as my beats. That's all my beats I make. Like I just I just get this flow and this rhythm.
SPEAKER_06So, okay, so every song you've recorded, you've never had to go get beat from nobody else.
SPEAKER_03You no, no, nothing came from outside, came from within.

SPEAKER_06Listen, I'm I'm before I before I let Adrian, Adrian say you got a couple questions. Before I let him ask this question, I'm letting you know, right? I I I met with Ross today that $50,000 is doing to the best artist and A County, Miami, right? Right. Uh I advise you to when we start putting out content, doing stuff, promoting it, I advise you sign up for that. Yeah. I definitely wouldn't. I advise you to sign up for that. So yeah. Uh Adrian.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so um you record your music, right? Right. And you make your beats. Right. Do you record by yourself?
SPEAKER_04Right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You make your beats by yourself?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02How do you do your quality control?
SPEAKER_04Um, honestly, as far as as far as my beats, or just as far as your music. Honestly, um, I would say the program I use, they have um a mode where it's basically like to your like pure your to your perfection. Like however you like it. Like you could tune it, you could switch your voice, pitch it. I have a vote where I'm able to like pitch my voice.
SPEAKER_02The reason why I ask is because like I've worked in recording studios for like almost 20 years now. Right. And the one mistake that I see young artists make is like it's dope to be ambitious to do things yourself. That's the way you should come into it. But you limit yourself without realizing it by isolating yourself and being the only ears that listen to the creation of your music.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02Like sometimes it's best to like partner with you know, someone who, like an engineer that you respect and like kind of have them shadow you and be like sonically, how does my music sounding? So that that way it's like you can listen to what's on the radio and then listen to what you create. And not like let's say going bar for bar, but sonically, does my music match up sonically to what's coming out in the mainstream that are people that people are enjoying? Because that's when you can start to perfect your own ear as far as okay, I'm making this music, I can have faith in knowing that it's not just me who likes it before I put it out to the world. Someone else is someone else's opinion is going into the creation of my music. That's not necessarily someone who's gonna be my cheerleader. You know what I mean? Because it's good to get that second opinion. Um, second question for the music that you release, how do you go about registering it?
SPEAKER_04Um, registering it, that would be with um BMI and also copywriting.
SPEAKER_02Okay, so you copyright your music. Right, that is correct. All right. The one I'll give you some free game. Like I do business, I I help artists on the back end with their business to make sure that they're collecting the royalties from everybody. If you're only registering your music with BMI, you're missing a lot of money.

SPEAKER_02Uh BMI is a performing rights organization, so they collect your performance rights. Um, back in the days of CDs and vinyl, you have mechanical rights. Now, the mechanical back in the day was like, okay, someone buys your record, they have to press it, or they have to replicate it from the master. That's the mechanical. So you get a royalty from that. Today's mechanical royalty is if someone goes and clicks on your song on iTunes, it has to be retrieved from a server. So that's the mechanical. I'm playing your song. I get a mechanical royalty from you clicking that. If you don't have your mechanical royalties registered, then you're missing a whole lot of money.

SPEAKER_02So after the show, I'll talk to you and your parents and I'll just fill you guys in on what you guys need.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Good stuff. Good stuff, good stuff. Good stuff. What what what's the story behind that name, Tay Static? Where'd that come from?
SPEAKER_04Okay. Um, so in school, I already had like a lot of you know people that was calling me T already. That was calling me Tay. Um, and I was just like, okay, how can I kind of like combine it with something and make it like to my liking? Um, so I was just in my room one day just thinking about like all types of like names that could fit in how I would like. Um so I was just like going and keep I I kept thinking and then just taste static. And I was just like, okay, this is what I like. Just grab that at the end of the interview.
SPEAKER_00Light bulb.
SPEAKER_03Nice, taste static, nice, nice, definitely that bull. What am I saying? Freaking static. You got that new taste static. I like that. I like that.
SPEAKER_06I like that, I like that, I like that. How would you describe your style? You know, to like somebody who never heard your music before?
SPEAKER_04I would say um it can be both. I'm versatile, so like my beats are different. It's not, it's not just gonna be in one lane and just one lane, it's going different ways. Okay. Um I have where I could you could lay back music, you could be on a yacht, you know, you have that turn of music, you could be at a concert, a club. So I have all types of like varieties of music, not just one specific you know, genre. It's all over.
SPEAKER_03Three to five years from now, where do you see yourself?
SPEAKER_04Um I just see myself accomplishing like my goals, you know what I mean? And uh making sure that whatever I put in mind, um, I apply that and uh making sure you know my family's good, making sure they're straight, um, and just also like changing the world in a way like a better place, making it a better place, bringing people together with my music, um, and just making people like realize my sound. Trying to unify the world. Right.
SPEAKER_03I mean I mean he made a lot of sense with his music, with his sound. And um what's important is that um what he's saying out of his mouth, also, you know what I'm saying? Because a lot of people say stuff out of their mouth that can destroy you know what I'm saying, and a lot can say a lot of things that can uplift. So you gotta be mindful when the things that are coming out of your mouth is it is it something that you know a three-year-old would would would you advise a three-year-old to be motivated by that? You know what I'm saying? Or is it something that you just doing for show? You feel me? So you it's it's a lot of you know, some people just just out there just for the entertainment part, you know. They got the skill set, they got the talent, give me my money, and they're gone. You know what I'm saying? And some people that have the passion for it, right? When you have passion for it, it comes from a certain place, you know what I'm saying? So definitely keep that in mind, you know, because you got the, I mean, I was all a couple of years, 20 years from now, we gonna be gone. I'm leaving, you coming. The mantle's gonna be in your hand, right? So it's it's it's you the you're gonna be the new leader, you know, and and people are gonna say, what he's saying, you know what I'm saying? Is it productive enough for us to to follow, or he just one of those that he just wants money? You know what I'm saying? So be definitely mindful because you young and you definitely got a whole lot of future ahead of you. Yeah, right. A whole lot of future, and things gonna come at you left, right, up, down. It's gonna come at you. But you just remember, you got you you got a solid foundation. That's a good thing, right, Papa Zo? You got the old boy, you got the old boy. You got a solid foundation.
SPEAKER_06So you know what I'm saying? Yeah, hey, stay static. Stay static. Stay static, stay static. Real talk. You dig, you know, yeah. Real talk. I mean, what what takeaway you want your fans, you know what I'm saying? Like, after listening to your music, what what you want to take away from that?
SPEAKER_04Um, I would say just remembering. Like, I want to also not just do music, but build a legacy at the same time. Be remembered, you know what I mean? Not just, I'm just putting out music to put out music. Right, right, right. Um, like I just want the audience to like uh get a feeling of my sound, you know what I'm saying? Like what it means to them in their own opinion, they can share it with others, you know what I'm saying? Not just listen, but also just like gravitate to like what how it makes you feel inside. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, there you go. There you go, right there. Like that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like that ass. Good ass. Definitely good ass. Yeah, yeah. He's a sharp kid, man. Yeah, he is, man. He got his parents over there, they sharpen him up like a like a blade, like sharpening up a blade. I like that. That's what I'm saying. I like that, you know. That's so okay. The music, you know, right now, like the music industry, like, especially in Miami, you know what I'm saying, has changed a lot. Right. Feel me with the streaming and what that did that affect your journey any type of way?
SPEAKER_04No. Um, I believe that it's opportunity more than you know, affecting anything, because we're able to um have people explore our music all over the world, just with you know, platforms, Instagram, right, TikTok. You know what I mean? So like having the people from different worlds, you know, like as far as like different cities, the UK, different areas where they're able to listen to the you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. So it reaches, it's more like an opportunity where it reaches everybody, not just one singular city. You know what I mean? So that's I just want to get that you know that message across. You know, everybody's able to feel.
SPEAKER_05I like that. I like that. Well, this youngster, this youngster kind of kind of alright. I like that.
SPEAKER_06I definitely do. Yeah, man. I I I mean, you know, I I see you, I definitely see, I definitely see you elevated. Feel me? And then just you know, just meeting you and stuff like that, and and and listening to you. And I know your dad, so I already know where you come from. You feel me? And and I see the grind and a hustle in you. Like the grind and hustle in him. That's a beautiful thing. You know what I'm saying? I don't I don't know, I don't know your mom. I'm sure she'll grind a hustle. You feel me? But I know your dad personally. I just met your mom today, but and I'm I'm I'm I'm I'm really it's really a pleasure to have you on the show, man. I mean, I mean, it's is he's you already know the the skill set and the talent is there, it's still most definitely. SPEAKER_06That's it, most definitely. What's the let me let me ask you, what's the what's the biggest like miscompression about Miami Rap Same?
SPEAKER_04Okay, I believe it is um a lot of talent down here, you know what I mean? Right, right. Um, I just believe that um as far as to get somewhere we can need a team, um and it takes a strategy as well. You know what I'm saying? To get to a certain level. So therefore, it's like one brain is I feel like it's not enough. It's a better way five brains, two brains, three brains. Therefore, we can bring all of our deals together.
SPEAKER_06So I like that. But you know what, though? Uh I'ma tell you, start the mind scene, the rap scene, just on the shift. Start on the shift on a good way. If you've been watching lately, what's going on? There's a lot of shift, right? A lot of good things happening. A lot of the artists coming together saying that's what we're all trying to do right now.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Like I said, I just had a we just had I just had a great meeting with him. You know what I'm saying? Me and Dickelli and Sonny. You know what I'm saying? Earlier, you know, and about what he wants to do, what she's trying to do. He really wants to give an artist 50 band. You feel me? So and then to to take your career further. You know what I'm saying? And who might what what you don't know what might come out of that? You know what I'm saying? So most definitely, man, keep doing your thing, keep striving. I love it. You know, I love it, man. That's that's what's up. What's what's the hardest obstacle you had to go through so far in your music career?
SPEAKER_04Um, I would say it's more of not obstacles, but I would say like a challenge. I'm challenging myself to uh do different things. Like, I like I said, I don't want to just stay in one position where I'm just doing one type of particular, one sound. I want to do what if one day, like um, I always tell myself, because you never know who you meet. So, like one day I could be the rock star who likes rock music. Right. You know what I mean? So I have to switch it up instead of just saying it staying in just one particular, you know, sound.
SPEAKER_03Right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_04So that's that's just really my mindset. I like to, that's that's why I like to do beats because it's like you get to tap into anything. It's like the world is yours when you're doing beats. So, so you so you you've done rock, beat, you've done different type of beat, or yeah, I do mainly every type of beats. I don't stick to just one. Because like I said, like when it comes to me being in um me being like in the music industry, I don't want to just like um bring them one type of You don't want to box yourself in.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like no, I believe it's you gotta like flow, be comfortable, you know.
SPEAKER_03I mean he's doing it right, because um he got the talent, right, Zo. So he makes beats, you know how to rap. He can he can combine both, right? And it'll be it'll be one great thing, you know what I'm saying? Definitely, but then he can also combine and be doing this here, and also have beats. The others, the other skill set that he have. He have he got a hundred songs and a hundred beats, making money off all types of ways of ways. You feel me? Because of the skill set that he has. Some people have to go outside just to get the song, I mean, just to get the beats. He makes his own beats and makes his own music. So, I mean I'm just chime in.
SPEAKER_06So he just like a little Wayne, just holding. That's what's up. That's what's up. That's what's up. Let me ask you this have you ever sell any of your beats to other artists? Oh you that's something that's something you you need to you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04You need to try to get some not yet, but I would love to, um, because I would love artists to just hear um my sound. Like I said, yeah, not only just me rapping, but also me doing beats. So I would love to collab.

Have you have have you have ever have you ever had a moment where you wanted to give up, you wanted to quit?
SPEAKER_04No. Um, never. Because as I do beats, it gives me that drive, gives me that push. Right. Like, and then I would say, just like seeing my family, um, seeing how they come together to push me, it motivates me to keep on going. You know what I mean? Um so I'll say those two are mainly the two reasons why I just keep going, no matter what. Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_03So, so tell me this. For the other youth that's out there listening to you, let them know how important it is to have a family that's pushing them, but at the same time listening to the family also that's pushing them.
SPEAKER_04Right. Um, that is very important, also your mindset as well. Not just, okay, I have a family that pushed me, but also my mindset too. That plays a big part of building your foundation.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04You know what I mean? Yeah. Because it's you. You gotta put in the the effort, the effort also is that to be able to get to a certain level that you want to reach. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_06So that's that's that's really I mean, I mean, you know, what okay. What would you why would you what would you want your legacy to be?
SPEAKER_04Um honestly, that is a good question. Um I would say my legacy, I would want it to be for getting people together. Um like I said, changing the world, making it a better place um for the youth, and also just making you feel like if I can do it, you can do it too. You know what I mean? So that's yeah, that's really it.
